As a GP/Family Physician, Ali Mokhtari has been practicing in underserved remote rural regions of southern Iran for more than 10 years where access to healthcare practitioners has always been a matter of concern. His work in Iran included being a board member of the local Medical Council where they investigated a healthcare access directory model. Since moving to Canada in 2014, he is pursuing the licensing pathway to be able to start practicing medicine here. He loves research and teaching and has been on the MAAP-BC team since November 2017, and also started an academic career as a practical nursing instructor. Writing has been his late night hobby for many years, which he gets to once he finishes with bedtime story telling for his two cute kids.
